Flats Nation is very pleased to introduce our latest Fly guide and (now) member of our Team based in the Tampa Bay Area, Captain Ethan Kiburz!
For those who may not know, both our General Manager Rick and I spent many years in the Tampa Bay area, which remains a significant place for us. The growth I witnessed over my 30 years there as my home waters is remarkable. According to the most recent census, conducted nearly five years ago, the Tampa Bay area now has approximately 3.1 million residents!
Thus, to truly excel with an artificial lure, not to mention a fly rod, in waters that are heavily fished every weekend is quite an achievement! Add to that the challenge of a large guide community chumming and using fresh live baits (some might call it "cheating" and fishing on the dark side) all week long, weather permitting. It really shows just how skilled you need to be to run a successful full-time guide business in that area, and this is why we are so glad to have Captain Ethan Kiburz onboard with us!
But that is not all! Ethan has become quite the skilled outdoor photographer (kind of important for a magazine) at the same time! 😎
This while running around on his Hell's Bay Marquesa as his main office. He has honed a keen eye for composition and depth of field, making his Outdoor photography popular as seen on his Instagram account found here will attest.
He has further honed his photography editing skills and utilizes many of the same Adobe products that we employ here at Flats Nation. Among our favorites is Adobe Lightroom and you can also discover them with some free trials by clicking here.
Ethan is going to share with us some tips and tactics, so you can get the most out of a trip to the Tampa Bay area and go fishing with him! We will have him on an Audio Article (Podcast) soon as we discuss many of these topics simultaneously, and looking forward to recording that one with Brother Ethan.
We're absolutely thrilled to feature some of Ethan's incredible photography in our future articles and share them in our free wallpaper selection soon. With Ethan's input we have another article already started on scouting new and old waters that should be very helpful!
You can reach Ethan for a trip by clicking here, and tell him you found out about him here on Flats Nation.
Again, welcome aboard, Ethan as team member for our Worldwide Flats Nation Community!
